    The easiest way would be to take a piece of your butterfly fabric & iron it onto some Wonderunder or something like it,(Wonderunder is actually too heavy, see if you can find something lighter.) Then you cut some butterfly's out. Take the paper off & iron these where you want 'em. Then you use either the buttonhole stitch or satin stitch to go around 'em. You could cut some out & scatter 'em around to see how they look. You could also try some out on a sample to see how you like doing it. Whatever you decide this is still a pretty quilt.

    I don't see why you would not like it. The colors are beautiful, especially the blue. Don't worry, your friend will love it. And she will love you also for being so kind as to make this for her.

    The butterfly squares make it look like the blue and white surround an open space and the backing peeks through. It's a great quilt!
