I would just finish & give it to her anyway! She will love it since it came from you, & remember, she hasn't seen it yet, so it could become her new favorite, & best of all, this one will be all hers so she won't have to even think about stealing it, lol!....

She may want to use it on the couch or guest room.... or may use it as and excuse to redecorate!

I know exactly how you feel! The quilt is gorgeous and it does look beautiful in your room. Can't help you decide but you can always present her with a sample block of what her future quilt will look like if you decide to go with the maroon, brown and tan. Sounds like it would be a win win situation. Couldn't you just call her and ask her about the blue and tan colors first before you decide which way to go? Let us know how things work out. Good Luck!!

And while I'm sure she loves the one you did for DD, even enough to steal it, she has NO idea what's in store for her with the quilt you are CURRENTLY working on for her. It will be breathtaking and well loved, and I bet it will go very nicely with her "new" color scheme, because this will be the centerpiece.

Trust me, she will love it.

(now, where's the pics before I kick your butt?) :D
Ditto
Ditto Ditto....besides when you tell her the story that goes with it she will love it even more. =)
