I just saw this article on Yahoo: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Higher...95776.html?x=0
Thanks... one has to keep reading, reading, reading so as not to get ripped off. I remember reading a book a few years ago by Paulo Freire, "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" about how the less well educated a group or society is, the easier they are to be manipulated... NOT HERE... Not in the USA... keep up the reading and thank you for the article.
Amen....illiteracy hurts everyone!!

Less fabric is right. We see especially girls and want a be older girls wearing next to nothing. we heard the statement- 'her skirt is so short you could mistake it for a head band.'- so very true. Haven't sen this much clevage in years either.

What about the pants that sit on your hips? I don't mind it in jeans, but NOT in pyjamas.I haven't been able to find a comfortable pair anywhere.

Contact the manufacturer about your concerns. You never know who may be listening.

I've been complaining about the lack of all-cotton jeans and other clothes for several years now. Even designer jeans, where you pay more for the name, don't give you all cotton. I'm all for making my own (or, more realistically, paying for someone to make them for me), but can you even find all-cotton denim fabric any more? Not to mention non-synthetic fabric for office wear.[/quote]

Yes you can find 100% denium. I recently bought bolts of 10-11 ounce (heavy denium) at JoAnn's. The price has gone up $3.00 per yard tho! I only buy it when it's on sale or I have a coupon. I have made my own jeans & jean shorts for years. I just took a pair I had bought that fit well, ripped them apart & made a pattern. It takes allot of ripping to get them apart & allot of sewing to make a pair, but it's worth it.

I've been making my own clothing since I was 8. My Grandmother made most of my clothing when I was a kid. I find most store bought clothing to be pure junk! Poor quality, poor stitching, or lack of. I also hate most of the styles today.

I will be going shopping with my GD, who is 10 sometime in the next month. I'm dreading it.

When my DD was little one of the stores had a guarantee on their jeans, if they wore out before the child outgrew them they would replace them with another pair of the same size. I think it was Sears or Wards?

Do any stores still do this?

Sears still does. I buy my boys school uniform pants there for that very reason.

I heard the same thing out here the other day, they also said something about "stretchy" jeans but the fact is they are using less cotton and thinner fabrics for the jeans....

Also heard the some of QVC's vendors will be leaving the show because of the price of cotton, my neighbor buys Bob Macky but she was not happy with the latest quality so sent it back...
