most all hairdressers rent the space they use to cut hair..a large portion goes to the owner of the shop. that explains why, when they leave, they take your info with them, they let you know by postcard, where they have moved to. so you will continue to use them, no matter what shop they are at.
some shops require hair dressers to have thier own clientele when they hire them.
same with food service. because they work with food..they make less than minimum wage. they depend on their tips.
at a minimum you should tip 10%.
we tip very well, because we have both worked in the service industry. it is a hard life.

I have a young gal who is raising a child and struggling to make ends meet I usually pay $65 to get highlights. I tip what my heart tells me usually and if I have extra I tip big. It always comes back in spades to be kind to others. ONe day I knew she needed help and I tipped her a 20.. because that extra is what I would have had to pay in another shop and she needed it.
$15 for a wash and cut in a lot of the franchise cutting places. in michigan.

As to 10% to God, that is a tithe which means one tenth. It is always our option to give more if we choose. You can't outgive God!
