Hey, also from TN. Head to the library if you have to have a book, but tutorials online are FABULOUS in teaching techniques. Watch several and pick which technique works best for you. Good luck!!

try an Eleanor Burns quilt book . I learned a lot from her. also you go online and watch some of her programs. Log cabin quilt is very easy, straight strip pieces.

Hello and welcome from Alabama :-D :-D :-D Have you tried your local library, they usually have a wealth of books on quilting. Also you can find fabric at thrift & yard sales and here in classifieds. :-D Missouri Star Quilt Co also has a bunch of tutorials here:http://www.missouriquiltco.com/
