I do too. Our beagles are part of the family and usually we call home to make sure they are ok. Daughter says what about me? LOL>

Fear of being commited to a place for the mentally challenged, but yes, when I leave a msg for DH, I always say Hi to the dog. He seems to be the only one that actually listens!

My husband has been in Afghanistan for 5 months, sometimes when he calls I put him on speaker phone and he talks to our two doxies...they start running around looking for him though. He is just afraid they will forget him....but they won't. He is too liberal with the treats!

My dog talks to my husband when we iChat. (DH is out of town for work)
He also watched tv...the dog, not the hubby. His favorite movie is "Eight Below"

I don't have any pets but my sister does! She has 2 dogs that are her children since she can't have any. But one day her Sharpei bit the UPS man and they called the "dog police" and they put him in quarantine for three days, something about rabies. Well, this just broke her heart! So everyday that Popeye was there she took him a happy meal from McDonalds and would sit there with him and drink the drink while he ate the food. Also, she doesn't have any handsets for all the cordless phones in her house because the dogs ate them, but she does call home once or twice a day to say hello to them through the answering machine.

When I have to travel for a time, I will talk to my pug when I call home, and she sneezes back at me! When my DD calls, the dog will sit and listen to DD's voice, and cock her head this way and that, wondering why she can't see 'her' girl.

Of course I do, I have to tell them I'll be home soon. Don't know if my husband would admit it publicly, but he does too!!

I just was away and my daughter took care of my peke named POOKIE. She called me and said mom Pookie has been crying since you left and won't eat. She put the dog on the phone so I could talk to him. I hate leaving my dog as he is 11 yrs and he is set in his ways. SO YES I do speak to my dog on the phone.
