    I have the same paisley so I pulled it out and chose some fabrics I would use.
    Since you already stated in your beginning paragraph you were not going to use the green pictured, I found one I thought would go. It has a very subtle leaf pattern and cannot remember wher I got it. The dark navy is at Walmart as are the two blues and I believe I also got the off white/beige there, too. I would not use white white as that would be too stark. Too much beige will wash it out. Hope this helps.

    The pink shade in the paisley print and maybe black or navy that's in that print, too.

    Wvdek has a good show there of colors. Since it is for a guy, I would not add any pink.

    This is what i was thinking. or maybe two colors of pink light and a dark. Depending on what you are going for.

    That sure is a pretty quilt you are using for the pattern. How about adding a mauve and off white to the colors?
