Do you have too much weight hanging. Even though I use a large dining room table much of the quilt wants to go off the edge and causes it not to slide so well. I sit a wooden tv tray next to my table so it holds the weight of the quilt so there isn't so much drag.

I have a sewing table one thatlifts the machine up and down. Yes I am using gloves, no nothing is draging even have those clips to roll the quilt, andmy feed dogs are down I have a brother innovis 4000D. I once tried that sheet they sell and sewed it to the back of my quilt I am beginning to think its me.

I know some will disagree, but I love the Suprene Slider. I also have a Queen Supreme and I use it with my extension table. Recently the smaller one got too linty and wouldn't stick to the sewing machine surface. Instructions are to rinse with water and try again. It worked perfectly.

Rather than rolling the quilt, try 'nesting' or gathering it, with only the square foot or so that you are working on flat. I would also just practice with the machine off, foot up, feed dogs down. Just try moving the quilt around without sewing. You should come up with a technique that works for you.
