Cut it into small pieces. If it's still ugly, you haven't cut it small enough!!

I was in a quilt group once that we each brought our ugliest piece of fabric in a brown bag, we exchanged bags for several months and each person added something to make it a block or a small quilt. Amazing how they turned out and weren't ugly at all. Do you have friends that might want to switch and help each other out? Like others have said, what is ugly to one isn't to all. Good Luck.

Over dye them, print on them, cut them up in very small pieces--use inks and recolor them. Use the back side of the fabric.

I slice strips and use them in Kitty pillows. They make great gifts for kitty friends. Guess you could make then into doggie pillows too!

Any suggestions on what kind of quilt I could make with them that would lessen the ugly when mixed together with the other scraps and remnants I have? Is there a particular pattern any of you use to make something worthwhile from fabric you just aren't crazy about? HELP!
Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville will tell you, if it's still ugly you haven't cut it small enough.
I had the ugliest fabric in the universe - then I saw it on the cover of a well known book - and no - the tiltle wasn't ugliest fabric ever!! lol
I do go with Bonnie's belief. I've used so so fabric in a quilt and was quite happy with it cut up small!!!

I respectfully disagree! This is where we draw the line between babies and puppies AND fabric!! There are some really ugly fabrics! I use them to clean mirrors and windows!
Our guild had a FQ exchange, and the Secretary made this announcement: "I am so embarrassed to have to read this, but.....(in essence) NO UGLY FABRICS!" When I give a gift it has to be something that I would love to receive. Trading/selling ugly fabric is just not right! I also have an expression: "How much is your reputation worth?" Mine is worth more than just a FQ!!!
