Yes, I used batting (warm and white) and stemmed ware sits very nicely. In fact, I think it is safer because it has a bit of a cushion. I will probably make coasters with the leftovers as a further protection for the cloth. Never apologize for being inquisitive. First, it is a compliment and second, everyone on the board loves to be helpful.
