Well, I looked at all the pictures REALLY hard. And, I read all the comments, so I am pretty sure that I have just the right words <g>.
I see nothing wrong with your feathers. They are beautiful and look very professional. I think you filled all your spaces beautifully, and I think you even made some new feather designs that you may want to copyright or something ... LOL .
Pay attention to hubby. I don't know about your fella, but my guy always appreciates whatever I do. When he goes beyond "that is really nice" to "I REALLY like that quilt!" ... whichever quilt that is will be right where he can see it as often as he desires.
You are correct. You will always be your harshest critic, so don't rely on your own knowledge of where the "mistakes" are color your interpretation of good quilting.
I made a quilt one time for my son and DDIL ... quilted it and everything, shipped it off. Four years later, I got a chance to visit them in their home and there was this BEAUTIFUL pineapple quilt hanging in their bedroom. I admired that quilt for almost five minutes before I finally realized I was admiring my OWN quilt! As soon as I make them and ship them off, they are out of site and obviously out of mind <g> ... my point is: a few more quilts after this quilt, you may well look at it and be amazed at how good you really are!
On the other hand <g> it is a GOOD thing to be humble. LOL
I agree with the others - - you do beautiful work.
