I guess me making 15 twin size raggedy blue jean and flannel quilts in 9 weeks would drive you nuts. The size blocks I used were
6 1/2inch squares and 3 1/2 x 6 1/2 inch rectangles. Every other row started with a rectangle that way I didn't have to match a seam. It made it a lot easier to sew them .Here is a picture of one of them. Also a picture of my sons full size quilt that was just done with 6 1/2 in squares

I am making a denim TV quilt for my son as we speak....I find the worst part is getting straight pieces out of the jeans. The legs are large at the top and taper down..UGH.
I don't mind the sewing as I'm doing it kinda crazy quilt. Just making sure all the blocks are 10" when finished. I have put some of the pockets on the blocks, some with the leather label, some with a piece of the waist band. All different colored jeans. It's 5 blocks across and 7 down. He's tall so will add about a 4" border, top and bottom. No batting, just fleece for backing. I'm down to putting the borders on and then the backing and I'm done. HOWEVER, I told him he will be the only one in the family to get one...It's a once and only !!
