Who does not use a walking foot on their DSM???

I hated my walking foot. Nothing but problems, tried everything, changing the tension, speed, stitch length, you name it. Still had puckers and boy! was it slow. Switched to a clear, teflon coated foot and never looked back. This sweetie just glides over the fabric, I can see everything, and no puckers. Walking foot is now gathering dust.

If it puckers, it is not working correctly.

It is surprising how many don't use a walking foot. I have used one every sense I bought a sewing machine and that is a lot of years ago. to me the walking foot feeds the fabric on bottom at the same as the top, and if one side is a little fuller, put it on the bottom and the walking foot well work it as the same as the top, no puckers, smooth top and bottom.

I always use the walking footwhen putting the quilt together. I learned the hard way. My strips seemed to move and change size on my log cabin quilt when I did not use it. I had to take them all apart and do them again. Never had puckering. Wanted to be sure the binding would lay good so I used it on there also with great results.

I used one every time and it doesn't pucker the fabric if you know how to feed it through. You alter the directions you are sewing. That way it won't guide the fabric wrong. And use lots of pins to stabilize your quilt.
If she is puckering her fabrics, she is doing it wrong!
