:lol: :lol: I'm sorry, I take slang terms in my own vocabulary and social circles for granted. My brother's name is Dan, the quilt is for him. Tat is a slang term for tattoo. The quilt is based on his Tattoos, hence the name Dan's Tats. He has a mariners compass on one arm that looks very much like the pieced center 64 point compass (32 points are pieced 32 are quilted) in honor of our father who was a merchant seaman and also to remind him of what direction in life he should take.

On the other arm he has a dragon and tiger chasing each other around his zodiac sign symbol for Taurus. The dragon and tiger are like yin/yang explained really well here: http://www.artsmia.org/education/tea...d.cfm?p=1&v=33

He modeled for me so I could redraw his dragon and tiger tattoos to the correct size for the quilt. There is also a Taurus symbol quilted in 4 different places on the quilt but I changed the dragon and tiger yin yang to surround the outer compasses. The inner large medallion is surrounded by smaller quilted compasses, 8 of them all together.
