The bad part for me in not changing my blades in time is that it gets hard on my mat. I have noticed that when I have to press harder on the rotary cutter because of the dull blade, that it cuts into my mat.

Same here. Sometimes I think the people who manufacture sewing supplies see us coming! I had read on here about how the Olfa rotating cutting board was their "go to" item, but when I finally found a 12 X 12 one in a store the other day, they wanted FORTY-FIVE BUCKS for it! OMG!!! I'd have to sell my first-born! LOL!

Gee, do the ever get dull???? Now a enough of the smartness. I was wondering if anyone had one of those blade sharpeners and if so, do they work?

You're not the only one. It's not even hard to change so why do I wait and cut three or four quilts with a nick in the blade that causes skips--every time! It's not that I don't know better.

I just used the 60mm blade sharpener that I bought at Joanne's and it works great. Turned an old dull blade into a new sharp one.

Worth the price, especially if you can use your 40-50% off coupons.

I don't change mine until it starts skipping. That annoys me to have to go back to a cut and tap the skipped area. Then DH uses the blade sharpener and voila it cuts wonderfully again!
