Why, I'd fall over and die if my DH ever lifted even his tiniest finger to do something around here. I ask for help and his reply is "women's work". I'm sure it is his upbringing that leads him to it but that doesn't stop him from asking me to do "men's work". Ha! Good thing I'm the domestic tomboy type.

I was going to ask to rent your husband to do some cleaning at my house until I read that "sewing room" comment. That caused me reconsider. lol

My husband goes on lots of cleaning binges, usually in his domain which is always spotless anyway! I have been known to call him by his mother's name as she was the queen of clean! I grew up in a clean home, too, but much more relaxed and less of a ritual. Oh, it takes a lot to make 2 people blend and love to the end. And our children are so like us as they begin a married life and hit the shock of working together!

Enjoy your evening together!

I used to do all of the cleaning and cooking when we lived in the 950 square foot condo. When we moved to a house twice that size and added 3 more hounds it just became too much. I tried for awhile but at one point went on strike. It took a little while but he got the hint. Now he does all the laundry. I clean the upper 2 floors but he cleans the family room-even learned to use the Hoover Floormate and if I cook he cleans up and if he cooks I clean up. If something is on the menu that needs to be put in the oven before I get home I just leave instructions and he'll get it started. He's a good guy.
