Cool, I have never thrown one out but it is a good idea to recycle them. I use my mangled ones for when I want to cut cardboard or other interesting things.

I used EMT scissors, the sort that can cut through a copper penny. It wasn't easy but I took it slow and didn't try to do it all in one day so that I didn't flare up my chronic tendonitis.

Thanks for your comments! When we moved from California to Colorado, my large mat was sitting on top of all the other stuff in the back seat and the sun shining through the back window warped my mat. Boy was I steamed! So I've been saving it because one large corner is still good. It just doesn't lay down so I can use that corner with the big warp in it.

Of course, I'M not the one doing the cutting -- my husband will definitely be doing that and it's on the top of his "Honey Do" list!

Congratulations on your weight loss!

We don't have any tin snips but Harbor Freight has some super-duper ones for $6.99 and the store is not too far from where we live.
