It is a sad day when a quilt shop closes, but the economy being what it is I'm afraid we will see more of the hands on shops closing for online stuff. Less overhead.

Could enough of you get together and buy out the store or another smaller one to keep one in your area?It has been done before.Just an idea.On line is fine but the comradeship is impossible to beat of a store .

I know how you feel. Our LQS closed the month I started quilting. She now sells on-line. I go to another store about 45 minutes away and try to visit there often as I do not want them to go out of business.

Plop, plop, plop. That's the sound of tears hitting my desk. So sorry for your loss. I sure you will go through a grieving process. Maybe you can start a quilting group and meet at a church or even someones home. I'm sure you don't want to loose those friendships.

Use a grange or other building near you to get together, won't be the same but would be nice just the same.
