Hi betty Jo..yes, I handstitched the black edging I did as my machine is very basic..TBH I have only had a sewing machine since August this year. I had some embroidery that I wanted to hem so DH told me to go buy a sewing machine. I went to the shop and just bought a basic model, a Janome, then I ended up in a bookstore and was looking at the stitching books and saw this book on quilting for beginners..so I thought, oh that would be so neat if I could make one of these..there was a selection of basic quilts and all the stages, all wallhangings, so I picked what I thought was the easiest, the Rail Fence,it took me ages to work out how to start with , but by then I was hooked
It surely is a great past-time!!
It is now turning into an obssession though. I expect to discover myDH under a pile of fabric just like in that Fons and Porter story..He will have gone missing for days and no-one knows where he is!!
