    I'm glad the LQS replaced the fabric but did they say why it was defective? Too old, in the sun, etc? I also think that I would applique the new black over the old. What a disappointment!

    For newbie me, seeing your damage is so alarming, can 't imagine how you must feel. I agree with the majority - applique. Don't put yourself thru the misery of trying to rip out all of that quilting, no one will be the wiser. I wish we could have a bee and help you. Good luck and let us see your finished project.

    Ouch, I hate that for you!!...at least the butterflies look like it is a lovely quilt...if that's any consolation to you...and, I agree with don't be so hard on yourself...we all have done some "what was I thinking" things...
