I have no idea how to convince him to agree.

But I do think that if you connect your worth to the price of a sewing machine, that's a connection that will bring you little but sorrow.

They are cheaper now than when I bought mine 18 months ago - but - I still feel it was worth the price. I have sewed and sewed and sewed (at least 50 tops for Linus Connection) and haven't had any trouble at all. I know nothing about machines but was told by a few people that it is the best so I just did it. After my husband kept up-grading our computer I figured a new machine was an okay choice for me. YOU WILL LOVE IT!

Sometimes if you wait till the last day fo the quilt show, they don't want to take the demo machines back so they really cut the prices on the demo machines.

When you spread the cost over the years I'm going to use it... It really only costs about XXX. I just have to pay it all up front.
And it is so important to have a good machine that works every time you sit down to sew. Quality does come at a higher price. My Bernina has not let me down and has been worth every penny. I pretty much sew every day and the machine has to work and work well.

It might be a fair comparison with the cost of his hobby? Does he have one that you can fairly compare?

PS: I have to pay nearly that much just for the repairs on my machine that died, so hope you are successful.

When women buy sewing machines they need to shop like a man! Men choose their toys without hesitation...they buy what they want without rationalizing, justifying or agonizing...they recognize the importance of having the right tools and toys..they buy the best with little consideration as to how often they will use their purchases or how it might impact the family budget. This sewing machine will be your toy...it is an entertainment center and a stress buster...Think of all the positive reasons you want and need this machine...you are a worthy person with creativity, talents and skills. All this will be enhanced with a new sewing machine!!! Your pleasure in a good machine and the wonderful creations you produce with affect your self-esteem...You deserve not only a good machine but all the other equipment and notions. Just as we update vehicles, we who love to sew owe it to ourselves to experience the amazing features of the new sewing machines. YOU GO FOR IT GIRL! This information is from an article that I found in a magazine many years ago...The Creative Machine Newsletter and I have followed their advice to the letter for many years...I am on my 4th Bernina and frquently check their website to find out what's coming out next!!

I took my hubby to the demo of the machine with me. He say everything it did and matter of fact told me to get the Bernina 830E rather than a lower machine. I about fell of the chair.
I told him to come with me and give his input. It was a mojor decision and I just wanted is SUGGESTIONS.

Do you earn money or do you work exclusively in the home? If you earn, can you take on extra work for more money and ask him to match it because it would make his lovely wife happy?

This is an extremely well built machine. When I got mine I took dh with me to check out the machines structure. The 6600 is all steel ball bearing! Awesome!!!!! Will last forever.
