They are all beautiful! Goes to show you, the current patterns have been around a while. I also love the Tumbling Blocks.
I would think hand tied or simple quilting would be best?

What a great thing for him to do, the piecer of these quilts would be happy knowing they went to someone who can appreciate all her time that went into them.

Love the scrappy ones! The family will probably want them after you quilt them!

what fun! I got a box of UFOs from a yard sale. Some of them were half finished blocks. I have to figure out what goes where LOL. Enjoy your tops.

I would try just a FMQ for most of your tops

What's cool about the tops is the huge variety of fabrics...sort of like a retrospective of clothing fabrics from those decades. And i remember those decades really well!

The strippy with the blue border i will quilt first and give back to johnny. No one else in his family wants them...which is a shame.

The brown dresden plate is blocks of cheater fabric which i might use as a backing...it feels like cotton.

So....what ideas do you have for how to quilt these???

    hexagons 66 in square

nine patch with plaid sashing....remember "eyelash" fabrics?

    stars 66 x 88

    tumbling blocks 80 x 100

    strippy with blue border 76 x 92

    charm squares 72 x 84

crumb quilt with some teeny tiny crumb pieces! 76 x 90

wha a shame i would say i sure would love to get a prize like them you are truely blessed to have such beautiful tops given to yo.
