    When I was making clothing, was taught to put "larger" piece on bottom, feed dogs take up some of the extra, stretch, etc. Guess you would call that "ease". Don't make clothing any more, but use same technique in quilting if not using dual feed system.

    I would, but you certainly would have to be careful not to stretch the block.
