Does anyone have any suggestions on where we might try first or on the way from southeast Michigan to northwest Michigan?

Yes, there are several really nice shops in the near area of Petoskey. I was there this summer for a conferenc and took time away to go quilt shop exploring. I know I am going to absolutely distroy the name of the town but it is the first large town west of Petoskey, Charolviox. Please forgive my spelling. But there is a nice shop there. I wish I could recall the name, something about hearts. Any way it is worth the 20 minute trip. Nice products, good selection and helpful, chatty owner. Just one block off the main road.

I found it in the phone book at the hotel I was staying at. Enjoy the country.
