I usually dont wear shoes in the house, and definitely not while sewing.

Funny I came across this because I was wondering the other day how many other people sew without shoes. I can't operate my foot pedal right with a shoe or even a slipper on the right foot. Like everybody else....when I get ready to sew the shoes have to go.

Same thing here. I like to feel the pedal. Shoes are too clumsy for me when I'm sewing...or anytime. Most of the time, I'm barefoot in the house.

I am barefoot all summer inside or out unless I have to go somewhere, and yes - I even get use to the driveway gravel by mid summer. As I have gotten older (I'm 73 now) slippers or warm socks are a must in the winter as my feet get cold very easily. I even wear warm socks to bed. But to answer your question, I sew barefooted in the summer and sock footed in the winter.

Barefoot unless I'm really cold, then stocking feet. No shoes for me!

We don't wear shoes in our house, so always barefoot or with socks.

I recently heard that if you sew with shoes on, you have alot less control of the foot petal speed. It is true because I tried it with my shoes on and didn't like the results. My machine would refuse to start sewing until I lifted my foot completely of the pedal and then put pressure on it again. You forget to take your foot completely off the pedal with the shoe on.
