I am in such shock at seeing all the work that went into this quilt and those tiny pieces that i am at a loss of words for the border..........it is fantastic.......

I'd go with the black, a thin one and then another bright one with a corner stone of black with some of the brights. Just a suggestion. It's a beautiful quilt you should be proud of yourself.

I would go with just a solid color in the boarder.tha quilt is right up my ally if you want to send it my way.lol :lol: :lol:

it looks great. i like your idea of a large black border with 4P cornerstones. then you can do some pretty quilting in the large border with some jewel variegated thread.
I haven't read all the responses, but I agree with Klue. Or, if you were someone who liked to do applique, a twining vine (utilizing some of the jewel tones) through the wide black border might looke nice. Maybe.

I agree with most people a simple black border would show off this beatiful quilt to its fulless. Not as keen on the cornerstone idea. Cornerstones will not add to the quilt.

I love the black background, and I would definitely do a black border on it next.
