I like home made pin cushions. One year I made rustic looking heart shaped ones for my quilting buddies. They were different sizes, hand drawn shapes, made from scraps, crazy patch style. For a folk art look, I made sure each one had a bit of open weave fabric on the top (think burlap) and a bow. That and a package of pins or needles, and you will receive lots of "Wow's."

My favorite is my thread snippers. The squeeze ones, they are so quick. I have 3 of them, one by iron, one by sewing machine, and one in my sewing kit to go. The magnetic wand I don't have yet, but lately I have been losing more needles and pins all the time. That would be really handy!

Agree, the seam ripper. Add to that a lint brush; tweezers; pin cushions. Most anything related to sewing under $5.00 works for me. I love all things sewing!
