Congratulations, I love doing any sort of handwork, knit, embroider, counted cross stitch, etc. - keeps my mind nimble and my fingers out of the candy jar!

Hi, I've been cross stitching for about 6 years, almost 7. It's really not hard at all. Come on over to 123stitch.com and joing the message board. All your questions will be answered and you will learn alot.

    I am sunni there also

I second what sunni said. Be sure to check out Friday Finishes on the 123stitch board (new ones on each Friday). It's amazing what members accomplish and share, just like this board!

I learned cross stitch at the age of 9 and still pick it up from time to time when I need something to do with my hands. I do have numerous UFOs around the house that I'm trying to finish and quite a few ready to be framed. It can be very relaxing and is very portable.

    Cheers, K

I assume you mean "counted" cross stitch. The rules are few and quite simple. You should have no problem at all getting started--------as long as you don't start with a complex pattern.
