With the tension on the faceplate, it a Japanese made machine fashioned after the Singer 15. They are referred to as clones, which doesn't make since as a clone would be an exact replica. If you need a manual, a free online Singer 15 would be very close. The Japanese machines have the reputation of being the better machine. Yours is very pretty. Give her a bath and a coat of wax and she'll look like new. Nice rescue!

I can not fathom why it would have been at the dumpster. What a beautiful machine. I really want one of those Japanese 15s in that color. It should be a great machine. Give her some oil and I bet you will have a wonderful machine. Great find!

Ahhhh, just as suspected!! A very lovely 15 clone...love her color, and she looks to be in very good condition. Nice rescue!! You'll enjoy this machine, as the feed dogs should drop for free motion quilting. Have fun with it!!

Beautiful color. Can't believe that anyone would want to toss her.

ooooh, so pretty! I love my shiny Black machines but my heart does do a pitter-patter when I see a purdy coloured one! - it was obviously meant to be, you were in the right place at the right time.
