I made 4 quilts (three of them were king-size) for Christmas gifts. I'm taking a bow because I quilted them on my domestic machine. Also two quilted Christmas stockings for new members of the family. The quilt recipients were very pleased because they didn't know I could quilt, and these were the first quilts I've given away.

Can I brag about my Homemade-But-Not-Sewn-Gifts? I gave away many quarts of cinnamon pickles (a treasured family recipe), pints of pepper jelly, tins of cheese straws, boxes of gingerbread biscotti, and 6 batches of pumpkin dog biscuits. Oh, and one fruitcake for my parents at their request.

I made a Christmas rag quilt for our office gift exchange, and 14 pillow cases with embroidered names for my friends grandchildren.

I made a lap quilt for my brother and gave away a few knitted dishcloths and some scrubbies as well. If you like making the pillowcases, another option is to use the minkee fabric for the main section and do the rest as you would normally. We all have them here and love them. Especially nice in our cold climate as they are really snuggly.

I made 6 pillowcases for my dd and her fiancee. I haven't seen the video with Jenny from Missouri Star Quilts. Think I will go watch it as it seems to have taken forever to get the pillowcases done. I also made some hobo bags and a fleece blanket with the disney princess panel on it and I quilted around the designs in the panel and just did a simple wavy edge on the fleece. Also made her a pillowcase out of the princess fabric. Turned out cute and my little dgd was quite happy with it. I usually make quite a few of the gifts we give but ran out of energy and time this year. I am definitely starting earlier in 2012!

I made a Queen size quilt for youngest daughter, wall hanging for oldest daughter, and wall hanging (Tail Feathers) for middle daughter. For my oldest GD I made a tablerunner, 2nd GD got an appliqued tablerunner( gingerbread men) and 3rd. GD got an appliqued pillow.(pattern called Ho Ho The Mistletoe). They love getting handmade items.

I did a quick quilt for my Dad, an apron for his girlfriend, a baby quilt, and a soft bunny doll. Hope to do more for next year!

I love the pillowcases too ... decided to personalize these for my sons & daughters-in-law. They loved them. They are made from fabric left from their wedding quilts!

I did not do quilts this year for Christmas but did fleece blankets for my two great nephews and their sister. I knew they would like them but did not expect the overwhelming response I got from them . All three of them put them over their heads and paraded around so their grandmother could take pictures of them. I did Cinderella for my great niece and she had to model it for grandma. That made me feel so good it was worth all the problems I had with the fleece. I don't know why but it kept slipping and I had it pinned really well, I always joke that I have more pins in seams when I sew than I do thread.

I did each of my three grandchildren a quilt and made matching pillowcases. I didn't get my granddaughter's longarmed but will be finishing it up shortly. Her quilt was from the Michael Miller clubhouse and I've been working on it all year. It had a lot of additional items (pillows, pillowshams, bedskirt) and we didn't finishing piecing the top until December. I still
have to finish the pillowshams and bedskirt in addition to quilting it on the longarm.
