PokerDiva, I hadn't even thought about taking the paper off a whole quilt at once! Maybe at that point I'd just put it in the washing machine and hope for the best.

Well, I"ve spent the bettrer part of the last hour catching up on all the postings. I hadn't 'subscribed' to the thread and was far behind in reading and 'gawking' at all the fantastic stars. My Alaska is still on the machine. I'm half way finished and hope to have it done before tomorrow. DH and I are going on a bird watching trip to Hiwassee to look for the hooded crane that has made Tennessee it's part time home (they're usually found in Asia, not North America), so need to work hard today and finish. Keep up the the great work ladies - they're all fabulous.

You sound like me, or I sound like you, and I was not going to join anymore than I already have because I still have so much to finish, then out quilt club yesterday started a BOM. So I actually made a calendar just for quilting so I don't miss a thing. But we can never say we are bored.....nuts maybe, but never bored!!!!

You'd end up with a soggy mess with bits and pieces of paper stuck all over your quilt. Think: kleenex in a pocket going through the washer!

I have taken the paper off those section with lots of intersections. Now I'm going to remove the paper from around the outer edge of the sections before sewing together. Then I don't see why you couldn't remove the rest.

Exclamation

Alaska is finished. Used the same background as the first we did (Alabama), but I'm not so sure I like it with this star as much as the first. Oh, well, I'm using this background until it's all gone and then I'll find another large piece in my stash. Don't want to buy any fabrics in the making of this project - and I have enough in my stash to do it!! I don't know about the rest of you, but I've gone SABLE - Stash Accumulated Beyond Life's Expectancy. Here's the pic -

Your blossoms go with your background, I think, and the contrast is good. Nice block!!

Can I join the SABLE club? LOL There should be enough of us on the QB to elect a member of Congress!

When I was taught to paper piece I was told to leave all of the paper on. When you are paper piecing you have a lot of bias edges and they could stretch on you and make a mess.
I would like to post my blocks on here but can't figure out how to do it. I went to the help page but it wasn't much help. I have 3 finished because I have a class next week that will put me behind and I plan on starting a Dear Jane quilt too.
