I absolutely love it and this is exactly the way I remember my grandmother doing it, only she sewed the scraps onto pages from the progressive farmer. Some day iif the good lord is willing, I am going to do one like this. Will just have to use another kind of magazine. Thanks for the memory.

No foundation fabric used at all! No need. Just keep sewing tog tiny scraps til you get to the size you want (mine are 3") so they are very tiny; press your block, square up and start stacking them up!! When my son hops on my computer, I just hop on the sewing machine and never knowing what I'll sew, I just start doing the crumb blocks til I decide! haha. I ended up with 150 3" squares so far! To put lots of angles in your block, just cut and resew other sections tog. It makes the blocks more interesting with all the angles.

No need to do it all at once. When you have 5-10 min., make a little block. They'll add up. Before you know it, you'll have a couple hundred! Thank you, Murphy1; hope you'll try it and post pics! We'd love to see your quilt!

Yes, they are crumbs! Strips are crumbs as well as rectangles, triangles, squares, etc. Yes, yours was exactly crumbs! A crumb is any scrap smaller than 6". Yes, it can be addictive! It's essentially a crazy patch only the term crumbs is the more popularly used term than crazy patch of yesteryear. A strip is a crumb and a crumb is a strip! Continue on! It's great fun, & relaxing too!

Thank you everyone so much! Thank you, raedar63! Thank you, veronica! Yes some pieces in it are 1/8", 1/16", lots are 1/4" and there's a lot of fabric packed in 3" squares!
Yes, it is a lot of work to make a little block, but I love seeing the little blocks done. Yes, to someone who commented on my patience -- yes, I have lots of patience. And yes, it is amazing what can be done with crumbs so tiny!
