This use of scraps sounds like such a great idea. A while ago I made a small scrap quilt with used dryer sheets as backing. It drove me nuts as I did it all without stopping. The dryer sheets did smell good. lol Using the blocks as starters and enders gives more blocks too.

I wondered if your blocks weren't solid seams with pieces so tiny? Or did you use muslin backing and no batting for the quilt? I made a strippy scrappy one time and it was so heavy it squashed the kids flat...well, almost!

I do believe I may have contributed to this quilt. I know you think something happened to me and you would be right. haven't been able to sew for about six weeks. Broke my shoulder 2 weeks before Christmas and just now able to be out of my sling part time. Therapy is now going well, so more scraps may be coming your way soon.

Your work with scraps is amazing.

You've inspired me! I have a box of "crumbs" I thought I'd send to anyone willing to pay the postage, but I'm having second thoughts now. I think I see some scraps in yours that look like some of my fabric.

Maggiesmom, OMG, Sue! We are all hoping you get BACK TO NORMAL!! soon! Saying a prayer for you each day that your recovery is quick and painless~! Everybody, I can't tell you how excited I was receiving Sue's scraps (that's Maggiesmom) in the mail!! That's why all those pretty fabs you see in my quilts are mainly from her! Many others have given to me too! One nice lady in NH sent me the cutest ISPY fabs and be on the lookout for a kid's quilt coming up soon with those adorable fabs! Well, Sue, you will love this little mini tut I put together this afternoon! Hope you enjoy it and I'm sure some of your scraps will be there too! So many people have questions that I thought the pics would answer it all of how I do this. Enjoy and heal quick! Don't worry about sending me more scraps -- just get your proper rest so you can heal fast! Looking forward to your posting and quilts again! n2! Thank you again, Sue, you are such a blessing to me!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!

Well, everyone, here's my little mini-tut I worked up for you today hoping it would answer lots of questions easier. A pic does say 1,000 words! Sure hope it will post the pics in the order I upload them and not scramble it like it usually does.

My blocks are cut @3.5" and the first pic today shows a little block I've made that is a good example of lots of angles in the block. You need this to keep the crumb quilt interesting. I never aimed for a braided look in the block -- that's the way it turned out in the end without me even noticing it!!! How do you like that??? I love it. Well, here are the pics:
