Default Fresh Fruit Parfait....My First Bargello

I decided that after the first of the year, I would try to challenge my creativity a bit. I saw a wall quilt on AllFreeQuilting.com made with jelly rolls, and knew this was the one I wanted. But I don't have wall space for hanging, so I decided to make it a larger size. It is 60"X70".

Here is the back:

And here is a closeup of the front:

I bought two books of bargello patterns. My challenge is finding colors to go together- hmmm-jelly rolls, thanks . Why didn't I think of that?
Yours turned out very nice-great colors together.

Well, I have been an apparel sewer for 65 years, but have only been quilting less than 5 years. It is a struggle for me to find fabrics that go together but not necessarily match. This way I didn't have to buy many yards of fabrics. It was 2 packs of Tonga Treats in Taffy and Meringue, plus a couple colors I had in my stash. I wasn't brave enough to try something more complicated, so this was perfect. I do see myself trying a more complicated bargello in the future, maybe in darker colors.

Sew very pretty! Love the colors, and you've done a great job! The pieced backing is nice too!

That is so pretty. It reminds me of a fine watercolor. Beautiful.

Love your soft colors, great looking quilt. I'm gonna have to find a book about them and try one soon.
