Mary it means confused or flustered....you probably never heard it because it's one of those words that hasn't been used in like a hundred and fifty years....

Yes, dearest Brenda. Flummoxed. Two m's.
      Thank you Vicki.
Still somewhat flummoxed but it's getting better.
Now I am just slightly discombobulated.
I guess I grew up in a strangely magniloquent home.
      We just loved swell words.
No wonder Melissa keeps looking at me weird and saying, "Huh?"

Brenda is just cranky because she was actuated into an unbidden activity by Mrs. Thomasina Sawyer.

Flummox is a very popular word. You hear it all the time.

I suppose I enjoy words too and evidently so does my dear little grandson. He has recently turned two, He says his milk is Delicious. His eyes sparkle when he does so and he seems to like the way the larger words feel on his tongue.

How adorable. My son was like that. When he got hold of a new word you could see him whispering it to himself to sort of try it out. You will have to introduce him to flummoxed!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I just got home 5 minutes
      ago been gone all day.

The new shower mat was my 4th stop of the day. I running
around consisted of going to Chilis for lunch (alone as usual)
then to the Wooden Spools quilt shop, next was Hobby Lobby
after that I stopped at Bed, Bath & Beyond and found an extra
long (16"x36.5") shower mat, my last stop was Joanns.

I am now going to go take some pain relievers and lay down for
a nap and a heating pad.

The scariest thing for me when I fell is that I have A LOT of hardware
(plate, 2 rods and 8 screws) in my neck and I always worry about
falling because I would hate to do damage to my "gimpy" neck thus
      causing more surgeries.
