Very Honest Opinions Please

Diana - I like what you have (minus the bright blues), it's got a modern flare and I'm sure she'll be thrilled that you designed it AND made it just for her. I'd recommend you keep going and let your instinct lead you. I've seen you other work--and it's great :).

I love it! Hang it on a solid piece of flannel and move them around to suit yourself. You have the right idea and I think it's going wonderfully. Stop second guessing yourself, she'll love it!
Crap? There's no way! You are working your way through the pillows, don't worry about the rugs, live with the pillows.
IMHO,
Sharon

Hi hon,
If you look close, the colors are all together in the pillows and the rug, kind of like color lines. They change with each row. That is what makes yours different from her pillows and rug.
I love what you are doing here. Great idea !!

Take all of the squares out except the ones with the teal blue. Lay them out and see if you like that combination better.
The teal blue will catch your eye and be the focus point and all of the nice soothing neutrals will support it. I think the blues don't look very harmonious and can't tell you why.
Regardless, I think it will be a beautiful quilt---just simplify the colors.
For what its worth, I also have a daughter who doesn't like tradional quilt designs and just may duplicate your blocks. I bought neutral tans and brown already, too....It's on my "to do" list. I have really been having a hard time deciding what block to make so understand your delimina.

I say go with your gut feeling. I like your colorway the best, it has interest, not so matchy matchy. A fabric piece is to add texture to a room not stand alone as an object. (HGTV anyone?) The pattern is excellent for the non traditional look.

I have no sense of if even the colors go together. I've hated working on this thing since I started, but am bound and determined to make each kid a quilt.....

The colors of the blocks seem to be picking up the hues of the rug under it??
Maybe take pictures of the blocks using the various suggestions given.
I really think that the layout you have at the beginning is attractive on a stand-alone basis.
