JeanieG ... I thought that blue and gold was a real cowboy fabric ... on sale at my LQS when I bought it. And yes gold/bling!!

DublB ... don't kid yourself, I really have not been that fast! I had one in each pair done, some time ago, and hadn't posted them. And the Apple Tree had been done for a while, just that I hadn't photo'd the pair. The other way I can be fast .... Remember, I don't have a life!!!! Plus I promised myself that this weekend was all about quality time with my sewing machine!

QuiltE....I really like your Betty's Delight block. Great contrast.

Question: For those who didn't do the basket block what did you do in place of it?? I am not crazy about that block, so will be looking for something to replace it when I get there....thanks in advance!!

This was the second block that I substituted. I just made up my liberty block with the leftover pieces from my arrowhead block.

Here's how I made my arrowhead block.

Since then I have bought the book 501 Rotary Cut Quilt Blocks by Judy Hopkins.

CarrieM ... there's lots of different basket blocks around, if you still want a basket of sorts. If you go to quilterscache.com there are oodles and oodles of patterns and you can look them up according to size.

QE I think those are my favorite of all your blocks. Really pretty with such great contrast.

Carriem, I didn't do Confounded Rose (QNS name for it LOL). I substituted a star block with dog print and called it Dog Star. If I find I don't like a block, I'm substituting another block and using fabric that wouldn't fit in some of the smaller pieces of the PC blocks. I've found some good 8" blocks on QuiltersCache.

Jan...thanks for the idea. I did find the "Iowa Star" block today in 8" so will make one of those as a substitute. I will take a look at the site you recommended for others if needed. I also know I will make 2 of the telephone block...my husband works for an independent telephone company in a small town. I am making 2 twin size quilts so want a phone on each. Maybe a state block for each would be a good idea too....hmmmmm?
