This is a terrific memory quilt! Thanks for posting. My ex decided he'd be a mining engineer because in a high school career exploration class he saw slides of mining engineers wearing jeans, and he didn't want to get educated out of his "comfort zone" When he passed, my son gave me his old shirts and I've made two quilts for his grandchildren out of them. Still have enough for a couple more quilts, but haven't finished that yet. Anyway, your quilt is an inspiration to me

What a wonderful job of tying it together! I have FIL's shirts that I am working on with my GD to sew. Inspiration to get back at that project--thanks for sharing.

I have a bag of my dad's shirts, at least I think I still have them. I still miss him and my mother. Loved them both so much. I took my mother's spirit with me on shop hop yesterday even though she did not sew, not fond of quilts, and would not have enjoyed the day. I inherited her car so that is why I had her spirit. my parents' love, influence and legacy is always with me. I want to make a pink and yellow quilt as I always say that I had a pink and yellow childhood. You did a great job with your memory quilt. It must be agreat comfort to you.

I love how you made the little shirts and set them on blocks. With the denim, I'll be this quilt will last a lifetime. Very nice!

Wonderful! What a great way to pay tribute to your dad. I would like to do the same thing in my father's memory.
