I just love black sashing...just a personal preference. I think it makes everything else stand out really nice. Beautiful colors and pattern choices.

If you're considering dark blue and black, please also think about a deep purple! Less expected and goes with the purples in the blocks! (If not, I vote for black but not a solid, more of a tiny subtle print or tone-on-tone)

Awesome quilt. I love paper piecing and like the idea you have of picking some stars and work from there. I'd sash and bind in dark blue.

I love your blocks and think I'd go with a narrow black sashing to really set the blocks off. I don't think I could part with it either, especially if it was my first paper piecing quilt. It's just lovely~

You did great. I would sash with the blzck to make the blocks pop. Good job.

I wish you had some of this fabric I bought awhile ago that is basicly black with small blue & white flecks like a starry night sky. It would look great. However, a tone on tone black would look great too. I would not use the multi color sashing as you don't want the focus taken away from you lovely blocks or to compete with them either. This just my take on this.
