Please check your inbox for pms dated June 18 -- I sent two to you that day and am really worried about why you didn't get them. Could it be the address shows up as Sharon Ann on the listing that pops up when I start to fill in the box? Is there a SharonAnne and a Sharon Ann???? If so, then Sharon Ann should have let me know it wasn't her. Maybe this is why it wasn't the first time you didn't get a notification. I was feeling guilty because it was a day and a half before I got to the computer after receiving the box -- usually I try to respond immediately after I open the package; but that happened to be the time I returned home after a three-week absence. I'm so sorry your feelings were hurt, but please let me know if you ever did receive the previous messages.
(And yes, it was a good trip "home" to Rochester to see my sister for the first time since she was diagnosed with Parkinsons last year. She's 72. I was happy to see that the disease is progressing very slowly with only a minimum of deterioration in her coordination since taking medication. She's slowing down, and doesn't have her normal stamina; but doing well in spirit. Hope she continues to hold her own and looks as good when I see her next year.)[/QUOTE
Hi Nancy,
I did a little sleuthing.. The only PM I have on 6/18 was a response from my SP sender from my outgoing thank you PM to her. I'll bet you did send to Sharon Ann, easy enough to do since my board name is spelled oddly. And I think I know why Sharon Ann did not reply. The one and only post she had on the board was in October, 2009. She has apparently been inactive since then. It's likely she never even knew she received one. From reading your SP profile form (and of course, being a fellow upstate New Yorker), it did not make sense to me that you would not repond. I was actually worried about you, to be honest, since I truly did not believe I would get "stood up" by you. Your profile seemed so "kind", actually. So, this is a lesson to me to not let my imagination run away with me, and to give everyone the benefit of the doubt going forward. So sorry for all this mixup in communication - you must have been upset yourself when I did not acknowledge receipt of your 2 PMs. And perhaps you were right about the others who responded to Sharon Ann and not SharonAnne. Soooo, please, cease feeling bad!! I am wearing a big smile!!!
And I'm glad to hear your sister's Parkinson's is progressing slowly. So many strides are being made and new medications being discovered, that perhaps next year's visit will be even better. And her positive attitude is very important, too... I'm looking forward to going to Sherrill next year to my (ahem) 45th class reunion. I miss "home", particularly in the Autumn.
Can't wait for July's swap. BTW - that's a great idea about how to use the scrubbie on the cutting board (you WERE referring to the sewing cutting board, right, or was it a wooden cutting board for food?). I'll have to try it myself. It was a free pattern from JoAnn's, so I thought I would use you as a guinea pig for my first attempt. My poor imagination stretched only as far as pots and pans. lol.
Take care and looking forward to "seeing" you on here again next month.
