I made up a half dozen into little wine bottle bags. When you go somewhere for dinner and take wine for a hostess gift they are so elegant. Fold a top down and run it so you can thread a cord or ribbon thru it. Just run a seam all around, turn inside out thread cord and pop the wine in. Everyone ooohs & ahhhs

Making quilted runners for furniture tops (i.e.: dressers, china cabinets, or bookcases) from heavier fabrics is another possibility.

Bags, pillows, table runners, placemats, mats for small pictures (if not too thick), etc.

Needle books, book covers, and bah humbug bags would also work. Also glasses cases and cell phone bags on cords with a pocket on the back for money and d/license.

I just finished a long patchwork squares (rectangles) skirt using some of these...3 rows of 9 - a light, a medium, a dark alternating around each row and forming a diagonal pattern. I just put a casing for elastic at the top and will let her determine the depth of the hem at the bottom. She gave me several of those sample books, saying it didn't look like she would ever use them. So I asked what she had planned to do with them and she mentioned wanting to make a skirt, so I did.

I also have used them for bags, wallets, checkbook covers, etc.

Am wanting to make something fancy with the silk drapery fabrics. They are gorgeous!

I also have a lot of upholstery sample fabrics. I am going to make a throw cover for backseat of the car. Now when the dog goes for a ride no more hair on the seats. :-)
