Fat quarters are rarely enough for me of fabrics I like. Because I use them, they are gone in no time at all, although I do buy them from time to time. A half yard works nicely if you really don't know what you might want to use it in, but are just adding to your stash? Usually, they cut it a teensie bit bigger than half, whereas with fat quarters, they are rarely anything but exact, so I figure I get a tiny bit more fabric for my money and call it 2 fat quarters...three yards if it's going to be a fabulous background type fabric and 2 yards if I just love it!

By the way Booklady...I was working on some sawtooth blocks yesterday and used your tip and I had my tiny little half square triangles in no time at all! Woohoo! You've changed my life!

I keep checking in here to see if any more people have signed up, looks like 39 so far according to the list on page 1. This is the easiest and quickest block ever to make. Anyone doubting thay can do it in time believe me you can, I made all 64 of mine in 1 day. So come on and join us it's really a fun swap.

Finally got a mnute to take a couple photos. First one shows where I stitch on two lines. Second shows where you cut between the lines to form the block and the extra HST from the second stitching. Easy! have fun.

Just realized! My avatar is an example of this signature block. The blocks are bigger (I think they might have started out as 6" or maybe bigger. I used them for some kindergarten kids to sign on so hence the bigger size.) This is a twin size quilt in bright colors for an 8yo family member. Just one example of setting these blocks together.
