Years ago my mother made tied quilts made out of this polyester knit. These quilts are always the ones drug out when someone has to sleep overnight. They make a pull out bed a lot softer. They have been put in the car should we need a cover if we ran into trouble. I can't tell you how many times they have been washed and they still look great. You have a great find.

FABULOUS material! At the cost of cotton these days, I wouldn't and don't throw out double knit material. They just make FABULOUS quilts. As the other said, they make great doggie beds, clothesline bags, lap quilts, charity quilts for the nursing homes as well as the VA homes and much more. They are the warmest quilt ever!!!

We even use them on the backs of our denim quilts. They are really pretty and useful and will last forever

Man I'd love that problem. The colors are very pretty and I'd make some blouses to my liking--not the stuff you find in stores. It's comfortable, washes well, doesn't need ironing as wrinkle free, and lasts almost forever.

In addition to what I already mentioned, if you don't want to use it in a quilt, consider using it to make nightwear (pj tops with color coodinated cotton bottoms).

My Mom made some of the nicest floor rugs out of them. They will not wear out. When my house burned, we were gifted with a quilt made of poly, this was very warm, also heavy, but was by far the favorite. And the best part.............it was well loved and I didn't have to worry about it getting ruined.

How about sewing several layers together and make sleeping beds for a local animal shelter. Our poor "throw away" pets need dignity in their last days and a soft place to rest would help.
