Updated -Siggie Swap 2012 Sign Ups close August 1st 2012

As easy as this block is, I always have a tough time sewing directly into the corners. I made all 64, and I thought I did a good job, but all my blocks came out wonky and too small. Every stinking one of them.
I am disappointed, but not defeated! I am cutting a new set, and I found out if I cut the white squares 5" and the colored squares 3", I can square the finished block up to 4.5" and maintain the proportions. My sample squares looked beautiful doing it this way.
Question: Has the swap closed at a count of 47 people? Since I am starting over from scratch, can I just make 47 blocks or does it still have to be 64? Let me know. I will be working on these today.

This is me sticking my neck out...don't get used to it cuz I don't do it that often. Do them all (many of us have already sent ours in) and drag a few friends over to this fabulous swap to join us. We'll even take them kicking and screaming right gang?

Good thing I don't have the hatchet because that neck was sticking out there girl. Oh no, that might make them scared and not join in, take that back, I put hidden fishing line there so you just mark your step.
I think you should do them all as well. We are believing more will join in.
Thanks Wholeheart Mom for going thru the extra trouble to make them perfect!

Wholeheart Mom - thanks for all the extra effort!
A hint for next time - draw a line across the small blocks, corner to corner, and sew just a thread off the line toward the corner that will be cut off. The line helps me to sew straighter on these little pieces. Also, turn off (or way, way down) the steam on your iron. Steaming can make the fabric stretch wonky when pressing.

I have 45 of my siggie blocks done. I had 22 of them done before I had my health issues, and my mom has sewn some of them for me, and I have signed them, and I have the cut out pieces she done for the rest and working on them slowly but surely. I will have mine in the mail before the 15th. So happy to see that we are getting more people.

Please do all 64 as we are hoping for some late comers and the ones I have all sent in 64 so I can mix and match them up even if we don't hit the 64 - but if you only send in 47 or whatever - it will throw off the way I am wanting to swap out these blocks

No problem! I will do 64. I thought I would get all of my extra ones returned back to me and I didn't want to waste the fabric. Now that I understand, I am excited about the mix/match way you are going to swap out the blocks. Thanks so much!
