I have several Kona solids and I like them. Sometimes, I'd prefer something a tad lighter weight.

Moda Solids are my favorite but I do use and have been happy with Kona.

I buy black and snow by the bolt when Hancocks of Paducah has free shipping. Quite a nice discount when you order a large quantity.

I just ordered a Kona 1/2 yard bundle with 10 different new kona colors - I have a quilt pattern picked out for it - the pattern is by Jaybird Quilts - its called Northern Lights and uses her new ruler - can't wait to do this one.

I like the Kona solids, but my local JoAnn's has a very limited selection - just a couple of blues and I understand that there are lots of blue shades out there.

Kona's my favorite for solid backgrounds. After pre-washing it's wonderful to work with. I do buy it online in the $5-6 range as most of my LQS's have it for the same price as their prints.

I love Kona cotton for background fabric. I have used quite a lot of it and have been pleased with the way my finished quilts looked.

Our local quilt guild uses Kona snow (which we call "Club Cream") as our signature fabric. It's used in our "thinking of you" and "going away" blocks and occasionally in guild challenges.

I've used Kona solids for over 20 years and have always loved them for their dense saturation of color, particularly the black - which I call a "patent leather black" because it has a slight shine and is soooo black. I love it! I don't do much applique, though, and suspect if might be a bit "sturdy" as Bearisgray mentioned.

I buy mine from Hancocks of Paducah.

This quilt used Kona as the background and the colors are much more pronounced than the photo shows.

Kona cottons are the only solids that I use. I buy red ,white and black by the bolt. It is wonderful for Hawaiian needleturn designs.
