You did a great job. I love it when you can prove someone wrong and it turns out that good.

Great job. Pretty quilt. Just goes to prove that it's like eating an elephant - one bite at a time.

Thanks all! As far as the main arc with the points, they are paper- pieced...the part I had the toughest time with was squaring up the arc block after all the different curved arcs were put on...I even added 1/4" to the straight ends of each arc so I would have "extra room" if needed...but even with that it seemed that the next to last outer arc part (the thin one) and the paper-pieced arcs came up short...so, if anyone has any suggestions, please bring them on!! I have made New York beauty blocks in the past, there is a version of one in the upper corner of the sampler quilt in my avatar pic..but I didn't have the trouble I had with these...the other squares are pinwheels, which weren't bad to make at all...but after 120 of them I was ready to be done with them!!! LOL...
    Regards all,
    K

Has to be a comedian in every group, eh??!! LOL...In the book it has the back story on why this quilt has that name...I also thought what a loony-toony name!! In Germany years ago people would have a blown glass pickle ornament on their tree...the 1st child to find it got to open up an extra gift..and if the family could only afford one gift, then the 1st one to find it got to open their gift 1st...

PS As I was mid way thru and trying to square up those arced paper-pieced blocks, my face probably looked like I had just taken a big bite of a sour dill pickle!! ..maybe that's the REAL reason it has that name...

Haven't other women learned don't ever doubt each other cause we'll kick the negativity right out of you! Very nice job. The only reason that you should need to take a class is if the instructions are poorly written.
