I like that floral in your second attempt. Maybe putting that block in with some solid blocks of the red floral will not be so daunting?

You did good work on the piecing!

I love how your second block turned out. The fabrics really showcase your perfect stitching!
Only 52 pieces? Ah, come on. One more time!

Great job Chele!! I love how each block looks so different! It really showcases how a single block can radically change due to the different fabrics used in it.

Is this a free pattern we can download or print off?

Thank you! You are wonderful! I printed out enough for one block so we'll see if I can squeeze it in between everything else I'm doing.

I printed the pattern so that I can expand my vocabulary...LOL.. I don't know how to paper piece..so you think this isn't 1 to learn with.

I may try it for the heck of it..just to see  I like your blocks enough to give it a go. It seems like you did a great job.

sandpat - If you've never done paper piecing before, I would download Carol Doak's tulip pattern, which is specifically for people new to paper piecing, and practice with that one first. Once you get the hang of it, you can literally jump right in and do just about any paper pieced pattern.

Chele - both those blocks are gorgeous. And your workmanship is right on.

Please don't give up. I think you should try Carols other Celebration block. That one looks interesting too.

That particular block appeared to be very challenging when I downloaded the pattern. Now I see it made up by you I know why. You have done an exqusite job!! She has lots of other blocks that are not so challenging and turn out beautifully(my opinion) All my quilts so far(4) have been from her book 300 paper pieced blocks.
