    Default Quilt shop auction haul

Today was a commercial liquidation of a shop that closed here in Indiana. Probably a hundred bidders. Very noisy since there was a second ring of selling big time business stuff like plumbing and lumber. People were paying pretty fancy prices for auction merchandise and it seemed like some ladies did not have "local" shops and were very impressed with the selection.

I got 85 packages of Thangles in one box and around 50 yards of material. One was a 13 yard bolt of fishing fabric and 7 yards of salmon fabric that goes with it. A friend bought probably 7 boxes of scraps and remanents. After 3 hours, I was just too tired to stay and make it thru the rest of the fabric and misc.

Best part of the day was lunch with my quilting friend.

When we got there we found out it was Zig Zag in Greenfield. She closed her brick and mortar store some time ago and this was apparently what was left in the shop.

I actually prefer garage sales over auctions. They are less exhausting.

I have shopped at that shope before and it was a lovely shop. I wish I had know about the auction, I would have gone. She was such a nice lady. I am so sad to see it go.
