Yes, just show up. Guests and new members are always welcome at the guild where I participate.

Please go to the meeting. Odd things happen. Our guild e-mail was recently hacked and we all got odd stuff. In the proces of fixing things and maybe your e-mail was not recieved. You may be missing out on some wonderful friendships if you don't check it out. Wishing you only the best.

Absolutely just show up! Most guilds run on volunteer organizers and most of us don't want to spend too much time doing guild work instead of quilting! In our Guild, mail gets picked up at the PO box about twice a month, checks get deposited about monthly, the website is volunteer "mastered" and other jobs are too--when someone is out of town, busy with family, etc things may take awhile! And I doubt most Guilds are exclusive and require admission--so just show up and volunteer to get involved--maybe be that person to be contacted if interested in becoming a new member!

Go to the meeting, join and try it out for awhile. The first meeting I went to I didn't know anyone and I didn't feel welcome - the only one who spoke to me was a vendor I knew. The leadership has changed and I know more people now (from a class I take) and I am glad that I stuck it out. Reminds me that sometimes all it takes is a smile! Have fun!

I hope there are some experienced guild members here that can tell me if that would be OK. I am a patient person, but three weeks is a long time not to reply to an e-mail. What do you think?
You should just show up. Guilds are always looking for new members. Just explain the situation. The member in charge of memberships may have had a family crisis and couldn't get back to you right away. Don't take it personally! Sometimes life just gets in the way. You sound like you would be a fun person to have in a guild. They will be fortunate to have you! Your avatar always makes me smile.

I hope you went to the meeting! I am on the membership committee for my guild. I only get to the PO box 1x a month, others check it also, and bring to the meeting any mail for us. Deposits are done after the meeting for memberships received in the last month. As others have said, we are volunteers, and most of us work full time, plus have family obligations. I do think someone should have answered your e-mail. I always try to answer those within a couple of days. Sorry you haven't heard anything back from that. If you did go to the meeting, hope you were welcomed and enjoyed your evening.

Our quilt guild you can go to up to 3 times without joining so you can check them out before joining. So I would just go and check it out and ask them if they get your paperwork

Yes, go to the guild and check it out. They might have a card waiting for you. But; don't say much; some guilds are run by bullies and if you say the wrong thing they will attack you. I am not trying to discourage you--there are alot of nice people in the guilds and helpful people that out weight the bullies. Just go slow and keep your ears open. It is alot of fun and they do alot if you don't ruffle feathers. My guild does not alow men; even if they quilt--bad news there! GO AND SEE!

Getting officers in our guild is difficult and we have lots of snowbirds, so it's possible that the membership officer is OT or hasn't even seen your request yet. I would go with a big smile and assume I was welcome. Have fun!
