I use the wondercut ruler, It is fast, fun and easy, you can cut a whole strip(WOF) of HST with just 2 seams. see web site for inst. it also has other uses. http://www.wondercutruler.com/ruler.html good luck

Hi! I think I posted that. Seems like a year or more ago! I do use tape on my machine bed - red for the 1/4" and green right down the center for diagonals. Now I can't find it! I use the "stitch to both side of the center line" method and often do 2, 4 or 8 HSTs at once. It is easier with a marked line, especially when it comes to cutting them "apart".

The other way you can do it without marking is to match up two squares right sides together, fold in half on the diagonal, press the seam, open them up and sew 1/4" on both sides of the fold. No marking needed.
